Navy Chief Gear with Some Actual Personality
After more than a decade in the Chiefs Mess, I got tired of seeing the same Chief shirts everywhere. Same anchors. Same slogans. Same safe designs.
Chiefs aren’t all the same. We’re sarcastic, nerdy, serious, ridiculous and shaped by experiences most people outside the Mess will never completely understand. We quote bad movies, roast each other without mercy, take care of Sailors and carry a lot of stories home from sea.
So I started creating the Navy Chief gear I actually wanted to wear. Some designs honor the heritage of the anchor. Others capture the humor, inside jokes and personality of the Mess.
That’s Elder Goat Products. Navy Chief apparel created by someone who has lived the culture, not someone looking at it from the outside.
Why “Elder Goat”?
When I was a young Chief, our CMC was the most senior and wisest guy in the room. We jokingly called him “Elder Jon.” It stuck with me.
After more than a decade in the Mess, I wanted to capture that idea. Experience. Perspective. A little gray in our hair. A lot of sea stories.
“Elder” represents time we’ve all served in the Mess.
“Goat” represents earned status.
This brand isn’t about ego. It’s about culture.
