The Story Behind Elder Goat Products

Elder Goat Products started with a simple frustration: I was tired of seeing the same Navy Chief shirts everywhere.

Same anchor. Same slogans. Same designs passed around with a slightly different font.

After more than two decades in the Navy and over a decade inside the Chiefs Mess, I knew the Chief community had a lot more personality than the gear being made for it. Chiefs can be traditional, sarcastic, serious, nerdy, ridiculous, and deeply proud of the anchor, sometimes all before the first cup of coffee.

So I started creating the Navy Chief gear I actually wanted to wear. Some designs honor the history and heritage of the Mess. Others lean into sea stories, inside jokes, retro artwork, and the strange sense of humor that comes from years of Navy life.

That became Elder Goat Products.

Created Inside the Chiefs Mess

I am an active-duty Navy Master Chief with more than two decades of service and over a decade inside the Chiefs Mess. I have served alongside Chiefs from different communities, backgrounds, commands, and generations, and one thing has always been clear: there is no single type of Navy Chief.

The Mess is built on shared responsibility and heritage, but it is also full of personalities. There are quiet professionals, loud storytellers, history nerds, movie addicts, gamers, mentors, comedians, and Chiefs who can turn a ten-minute meeting into a two-hour sea story.

Elder Goat designs are shaped by that real experience. They are not created by someone observing Navy Chief culture from the outside. They come from years of wearing the anchor, leading Sailors, sitting in the Mess, hearing the jokes, and understanding what the symbols actually mean.

That does not mean every design has to be serious. Honoring the anchor and having a personality are not mutually exclusive.

Elder Goat Products is independently owned and operated by an active-duty Navy Master Chief. I create and manage the store around the demands of military service, which means this is not a large company with a warehouse, marketing department, or customer-service call center.

When you contact Elder Goat Products, you are contacting me. When you place a custom order, I am the person helping develop it. When something goes wrong, I am the person working with you to make it right.

Most products are made to order and typically ship within 15 business days. Because I am active duty, production sometimes has to work around my military schedule. I appreciate the patience and support that allow me to continue building this brand while serving.

The heritage of the Chief Petty Officer community matters. Even when a design is funny, strange, or inspired by an inside joke, it should still come from a genuine understanding of the culture.

The Navy Chief community does not need another store filled with the same recycled graphics. Elder Goat exists to create original concepts with more humor, personality, and variety.
